RUSAŁKA

Rusałka is a water nymph coming from Polish mythology. She possess the ability to trasmute herself accordingly to her current living habitat (both water and land) and the people she interacts with. The dual quality of her nature that was so often described in the works of the poets of the Romantic Era, such as Adam Mickiewicz was the main influence for this project. Another aspect that had a huge impact on my creative process was the arts industry and its superficial side that puts a lot of pressure on the physical aspect of the self-image.

This was the final project I realised while studying BA (Hons) Hair, Make-up & Prosthetics for Performance course at London College of Fashion and probably the most stressful day in the year 2022 so far. It took 7 hours to create Rusalka, half day shoot and lots of planning with Adam Razvi who with his persistent spirit and knowledge and feel for things that money can't buy pushed the execution of this idea to the maximum.

The photos were taken by Charles Wang - supertalented Fashion Photography student from LCF.

And of course there would have been no Rusalka without Rusalka herself and her self-expression;)
