RUSAŁKA

A short film "Rusałka" presenting a character design I realised as my grad project for London College of Fashion, UAL in May 2022. All practical visual effects done by me.

Rusałka is a water nymph coming from Polish mythology. She possess the ability to trasmute herself accordingly to her current living habitat (both water and land) and the people she interacts with. The dual quality of her nature that was so often described in the works of the poets of the Romantic Era, such as Adam Mickiewicz was the main influence for this project. Another aspect that had a huge impact on my creative process was the arts industry and its superficial side that puts a lot of pressure on the physical aspect of the self-image.
